Because it's my birthday today, I'm going to do one of those ever-so popular giveaways. This means that I'm going to
randomly select a person who gets a free miniature book necklace from me - it's a navy blue one, bound in luxurious goatskin and finished with a foil gilt "falling stars" motif. The rules are very simple too: All you have to do is
follow my blog and then
leave a little comment in this entry about what you think about my blog or my work. You don't have to be a poet, but it's always nice to know what people think so all comments that are a bit more deep than "nice stuff" are much appreciated.
The winner will be selected on
30th of June. I will announce the winner in a separate blog post but when leaving your comment please make sure that I can also personally contact you one way or another; E-mail address is preferred!
Even in the middle of a precious football game, I hereby state that I do like you works, as they present the beauty of binding with a gentle touch of an artist. Yours as ever,
ReplyDeleteMika
Simply beautifu!. This is all I can come up with, as I wrote longer entry that the Google was kind enough to trash.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Mika
Thank you Mika. It seems Google is messing up with our heads again. Two comments or one, you're in the draw!
DeleteStar knows my heart (星星知我心) .
ReplyDelete(because in Chinese, the pronunciation of "star" is close to "heart" ❤ )
I like dark blue sky at night, and anything shining.
Always ❤ your handmade books but I have not order a book necklace for myself yet XD
I don't need to win anything - just wanted to let you know that I love following your work, and am forever grateful for my e-community of binders. Inspiration, guidance and fun, shared across the globe.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing..

My librarian mum used to collect miniature books, I always adored them. What a sweet idea to make them into wearable art!
ReplyDeleteI really liked the way the pale travel journal turned out with the red stencilling and like your deer linocut as well! It makes me wonder if it'd be possible to print on leather with a lino block?
Onnea!

Your work is beautiful, quiet - yet speaks volumes - in blank pages. Thank you for sharing your world. I follow in silent appreciation. Happy birthday, and thank you for the opportunity to win. I'd have also happily traded. :) bibliographica-days.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your little book necklaces! They are adorable! Have your made any "Blank" books for people to personalize it themselves? Or little photo album books? Great blog & Etsy shop! Keep up the great work :)

I love your blog and have been following along for quite some time now. Your headband tutorial has been especially helpful, and I've used it to refresh my memory several times.
ReplyDeleteYour books are simply beautiful, and I greatly admire your style as well as your skill. I love seeing behind the scenes at your shop, especially the more difficult techniques like gilding, since I'm not yet so advanced.
What a wonderful, very hobbit-like, way to celebrate your birthday! Hopefully, many more to come!
Oon miettiny pitkään tämmöisen ostamista, mut pelkään, ett hukkaisin sen heti ja itken vieläkii jotain kaulakorua, joka katos vuonna -92, niin en oo oikein hyvä käsittelemään tämmösiä tunteita. :D
